The<\/span> Consular Office of the Embassy of Italy in Beirut provides<\/span> consular services and assistance, <\/span>upon<\/span> reques<\/span>t<\/span>, to Italian citizens in Lebanon in <\/span>the<\/span> cases<\/span> provided <\/span>for <\/span>by the Law<\/span>and according to principles of equality<\/span> of treatment<\/span>, impartiality, efficiency and transparency in compliance with local laws.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Consular <\/span>Office<\/span> of the Embassy in Beirut exercises its assistance functions within the limits provided by the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations. <\/span><\/p>\n

For<\/span> up-to-date information on the consular services provided by the Diplomatic-Consular Network of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (with reference regulations and lists of the documents to be <\/span>submitted along the <\/span>applications), please refer to the appropriate section of <\/span>the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

AIRE registration<\/span><\/strong><\/span> is a prerequisite for <\/span>accessing<\/span> ordinary consular services.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Under Law 470\/88, Italian citizens residing abroad for more than 12 months are required to register with <\/span>A.I.R.E. (Anagrafe Italiani <\/span>Residenti<\/span> all’Estero<\/span>).<\/span><\/a> Italian citizens<\/span>, on the other hand, who stay in Lebanon between 6 and 12 months are requested to report t<\/span>heir presence t<\/span>o the Consular <\/span>Office under \u201c<\/span>the temporary category<\/span>\u201d<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Italian citizens staying in Lebanon for short periods of less than 6 months are encouraged to register on the <\/span>Dove <\/span>Siamo<\/span> n<\/span>e<\/span>l<\/span> Mondo<\/span><\/a> website and <\/span>to <\/span>consult the <\/span>Viag<\/span>g<\/span>iare<\/span> Sicuri<\/span><\/a> website.<\/span><\/p>\n

For those who are in Lebanon temporarily for less than one year or are not required to register on AIRE, please report your presence by sending the completed form<\/a> to\u00a0cons.beirut@esteri.it<\/a><\/p>\n

PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF THE OBLIGATION TO REGISTER A.I.R.E.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Citizens interested in registering with the A.I.R.E. must submit their request to the competent consular office no later than 90 days following their change of residence. This results in the immediate cancellation from the Register of the Resident Population (<\/span>Anagrafe <\/span>della<\/span> Popolazione<\/span> Residente<\/span>, A.P.R.) of the Municipality of origin.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anyone who, having registration obligations, breach the provisions of Law no. 1228 of 24 December 1954, Law no. 470 of 27 October 1988, and the regulations <\/span>implementing the aforementioned laws <\/span>on AIRE registration <\/span>are subject to administrative fines, as provided by Law no. 213 of 30 December 2023. The competent authority for ascertaining and imposing the penalty is the Municipality in whose registry the offender is registered.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The procedure for ascertaining and imposing penalties is governed by Law no. 689 of 24 November 1981, Article 1, according to which \u201cNo one may be subjected to administrative penalties except by virtue of a law that came into force before the violation was committed\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ordinary consular services<\/span> have a fee that changes<\/span> quarterly <\/span>according to the official exchange rate of the euro with the applied currency. <\/span><\/p>\n

As of October 1, 2020, consular-visa services are <\/span>to be paid <\/span>exclusively in U.S. dollars (USD) in cash.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lists of professionals<\/u><\/b><\/span><\/div>\n

The<\/span> Consular <\/span>Office<\/span> has a list of <\/span>professionals who have reported themselves as working in <\/span>this jurisdiction<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The lists of professionals are not exhaustive and <\/span>are without any obligations on <\/span>the Consular <\/span>Office <\/span>of the Embassy of Italy in Lebanon. <\/span><\/p>\n
