INPS<\/strong> has announced the launch of the first phase \u2013 from March to July 2026 \u2013 of the life certification campaign for pensioners residing abroad<\/strong>, aimed at enabling the payment of pensions overseas.<\/p>\n

Please note that starting from 20 March 2026<\/strong>, Citibank N.A<\/strong>. will handle the mailing of life certification requests to Italian nationals within this consular district. The certifications must be received by Citibank by 18 July 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Citibank will initiate the life verification process by sending an explanatory letter along with the standard certification form, which consists of a personalized document for each pensioner. This form must be completed, dated, signed, and countersigned by the Consular Office of this Embassy.<\/p>\n

For further information on the procedures to provide proof of life, please refer to message no. 3863 of 19 December 2025<\/a>. With regard to the criteria for exclusion from the general certification process, INPS notes that pensioners falling within the categories outlined in point 3) of the above-mentioned message<\/a> are not subject to the annual certification request.<\/p>\n

Please note that if the certification is not provided, the August 2026 pension payment, where possible, will be made in cash at Western Union agencies in the country of residence. In the event of failure to collect the payment in person or failure to submit the certification by 19 August 2026, pension payments will be suspended starting from the September 2026 installment<\/u>.<\/p>\n

For individuals residing in the consular district of the Embassy of Italy in Beirut, it is possible to complete the process by appearing in person, by prior appointment via the Prenot@mi portal<\/a>, bringing the received form and a valid identity document. If the pensioner is unable to travel for justified reasons, please contact the Consular Office of this Embassy at cons.beirut@esteri.it<\/a> .<\/p>\n
