What is FAST IT?
The FAST IT portal (Farnesina Servizi Telematici per Italiani all’Estero) is a platform dedicated to Italian citizens residing abroad and is active across the entire consular network of the Ministry.
The “FAST IT” portal allows for quick and independent management of AIRE registration, including updating personal data. It enables users to manage their status without having to visit the Consulate. Its use is therefore recommended as the primary method for managing registration and updating personal information.
Using FAST IT helps reduce errors in consular records and improves interaction with users. The service can also be effectively used via smartphones and other mobile devices.
What services does the FAST IT portal provide?
On the FAST IT portal, it is possible to:
- apply for registration in the Registry of Italians Resident Abroad (AIRE);
- if already registered with AIRE, check your residence data;
- report a change of address within the same consular district;
- report a change of residence to another consular district and/or another country.

USEFUL TIPS FOR USING THE FAST IT PLATFORM
- You must have access to a printer and scanner (avoid color scans or photos; use black-and-white scans only);
- Expired identity documents must not be uploaded;
- To sign the application generated by the system, you have two options:
- print the application, sign it by hand, and scan it;
- sign the PDF file using a digital signature, without printing it (for information on digital signatures: https://www.agid.gov.it )
- Identity documents: scan of an Italian identity document (passport, including pages with photo, signature, and personal details—pages 2 and 3—and the page showing the issuing authority—pages 4 and 5);
for cohabiting family members, copies of their documents (Italian ID copies and passport scans of all household members residing abroad in the same home; for a foreign spouse, a copy of the national passport; for applications concerning only minor children, it is recommended to upload identification documents of both parents);
- Proof of residence: scan of a document proving residence within the consular district—residence certificate (Ifedet sakan) issued by the local authority (Moukhtar), including the names of all household members living in the same residence;
- Once you have the three files (application, documents, and proof of residence—maximum size 1 MB), return to the service request page and complete the process by clicking “Inviare la richiesta”;
- If the user already has a FAST IT account with another Consular Office, before applying they must transfer their account using the “Cambio Sede” function, selecting “Lebanon > Beirut.”
Italian citizens who do not yet have an Italian identity document may submit a foreign identity document and a copy of the birth certificate registered/issued by the relevant Italian municipality.
Italian citizens residing in the consular district who have had their identity document lost or stolen may submit a copy of the report filed with the local police authorities (competent for the place where the loss/theft presumably occurred) and—if available—a photocopy of the lost/stolen Italian document. In all cases, proof of residence in the consular district and/or any other identification document must also be provided.

Change of address within the Consular District of Lebanon
If you registered with AIRE through FAST-IT, you are already authenticated on the platform and can view your personal record and request a change of address within the same Consular District.
The address change procedure is carried out on the FAST-IT platform by selecting “Comunicare la variazione della propria residenza”.
The platform will guide the user intuitively through the process, and the user will be notified by email once completed.
NOTE: The FAST IT platform also provides FAQs to facilitate navigation.
