Beirut, September 19th, 2018 – A transfer of authority ceremony took place between the Commander of the Italian Bilateral Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL) Col. Stefano GIRIBONO and the incoming Commander Col. Stefano LAGORIO at Yarze Officers Club.
Within the mandate of Col. GIRIBONO, the Italian bilateral mission has given a strong impetus to training activities in favor of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), increasing to more than double the number of courses conducted by Italian trainers in the framework of the follow-up to the Rome 2 Conference, and focusing on highly specialized areas of the Armed Forces operational activity, including training of the Presidential Guard Brigade personnel (among whom 25 women).
