A new visa representation agreement between Italy and Malta will be in force from December 1st 2020.
Therefore, foreign citizens residing in Lebanon may apply for Schengen visas to Malta at the Embassy of Italy in Beirut through TLScontact (https://it.tlscontact.com/lb/BEY/index.php ). The competence in issuing national visa (type D) to Malta pertains to the Embassy of Malta in Cairo (Egypt).
At the time being, the agreement will be applicable to the categories of people who are currently exempted from travel restrictions to EU, namely:
- Medic and paramedic staff;
- Transborder workers;
- Seasonal workers in agriculture;
- Workers in transportation;
- Diplomats, staff of International Organisations, military personnel, humanitarian personnel and staff of civil protection departments;
- Transit passengers;
- Visitors for urgent family matters;
- Maritime workers;
- People entitled to international protection;
- Third Countries’ citizens travelling for study;
- Third Countries’ highly skilled workers.
