“Promoting Religious Freedom and Peace through Cross-Cultural Dialogue”

In the framework of the action carried out by Italy to promote freedom of religion and protection of religious minorities through tolerance and dialogue, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) organized recently an international workshop on the topic: “Promoting Religious Freedom and Peace through Cross-Cultural Dialogue”.

The event, which took place at the premises of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs last February 11, gathered representatives of the academia and of the media from all over the world. It is important to underline that the workshop was organized in the wake of the consensual adoption by the UN General Assembly of two new Resolutions on religious freedom, introduced respectively by the European Union and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

In the months following the workshop, thanks to the funding of the Italian MFA, the “Institute of International Political Studies” (ISPI), based in Milan, Italy (which co-organized the event), prepared a report aiming at highlighting the main conclusions reached by the panelists.
