The Italian legislation relating to the election of members of the European Parliament does not provide for voting abroad outside the EU countries. Therefore, Italian AIRE registered voters residing in states that are not members of the European Union, will only be able to vote by returning to Italy to the polling stations set up by the Municipalities in whose electoral lists they are registered.
To this end, the aforementioned voters are sent a postcard indicating the date of the vote by the Municipalities of electoral registration with the warning that the recipient will be able to collect the electoral certificate at the competent municipal office and that the presentation of the postcard itself entitles the holder to take advantage of travel facilities within the national territory to go to vote in the municipality of electoral registration.
