Following the entry into force of the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, the Minister of Defence, Guido Crosetto, officially visited Lebanon where he paid tribute to the LAF soldiers who lost their lives in times of war.
Minister Crosetto met with his Lebanese counterpart, Maurice Sleem, and with LAF Commander, Gen. J. Aoun, before heading to the South where he addressed the Italian contingent in UNIFIL at the Sector West Command in Shamaa.
Minister Crosetto’s visit is a further tangible sign of Italy’s closeness to the LAF and of the long-standing diplomatic and military ties between the two countries.
