Today, the First Counselor and the Defense Attaché of the Italian Embassy in Beirut took part in a ceremony marking the end of a new training course held in the framework of the training activity that the Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL) has been conducting for a year in favor of the Presidential Guard. In collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute, the Italian Military Mission also guarantees the linguistic training of the presidential guard staff.
The MIBIL, operating in Lebanon since 2015 following a decision by the Italian Government adopted at the first ISG Conference in support of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) hosted in Rome in June 2014, has so far trained more than a thousand members of the Lebanese Armed Forces, investing more than twenty million dollars in equipment and training activities by highly skilled personnel from the Italian Armed Forces.
Italy confirms its support to the Lebanese Armed Forces, aimed to increase its already excellent operational capabilities, and will host in early 2018 a new International Conference in Rome to support the Lebanese Armed Forces and Security Forces.
