Requesting a Visa for the Jubilee – 2025

doc1

A special “Tourism-Jubilee” visa is available for those participating in pilgrimages to Rome organized by their local churches.

In preparation for the Jubilee 2025, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Dicastery for Evangelization have signed a Modus Procedendi that can facilitate the issuance of an entry visa for Italy for the faithful who intend to come on pilgrimage to Rome and other holy sites in Italian territory.

It is important to know that:

The process for requesting the special “Jubilee-Tourism” visa is reserved exclusively for pilgrims participating in a diocesan pilgrimage (or with a group from within the diocese) that is organized by a local Coordinator appropriately designated by the Local Ordinary, within the procedures described in the Modus procedendi .

Outside of the aforementioned case, it always remains a possibility for any citizen to submit his or her own request of other type of entry visa, such as:

tourism, by pilgrims not organized in groups;

– religious reasons, presented by religious or ministers of worship to carry out initiatives or activities of a religious nature;

– invitation, for participation in events promoted Institutions of the Vatican City State with institutional purposes.
