As of May 15, 2025, the Fast It consular services portal has been updated to allow Italian citizens residing abroad to access it using their Electronic Identity Card (CIE).
With the “Entra con CIE” (Enter with CIE) feature, users can either create a new account or convert an existing one into a digital identity account without losing their application history or any pending requests. Additionally, if you already have a SPID (Public Digital Identity System) account, you can access the portal using either SPID or CIE interchangeably.
The portal also offers comprehensive Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to assist citizens with navigation and to resolve common issues easily.
Furthermore, the function for assigning and issuing the tax code (codice fiscale) for residents registered with AIRE (Registry of Italians Residing Abroad) through the Fast It portal has been updated. The tax code certificate now includes a digital stamp that certifies the authenticity and legal validity of the document.
Thanks to this implementation, Italian citizens residing abroad who are registered on Fast It can independently obtain an official certificate with a seal issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, directly from the portal and without the need to interact with a consular officer. This service is also available for minor children living with their parents. As this document complies with the AGID (Agency for Digital Italy) guidelines, Italian nationals residing abroad can more effectively request services that require tax code certification, such as obtaining SPID credentials.
